Electric Guitar Prices
I list the electric guitar prices I found on the internet and at different stores. I played and inspected many to arrive at what I feel are the best quality at decent prices. It's important to know that Epiphone is by Gibson and Squier is by Fender. The 2 biggest names in the industry.Epiphone Les Paul Special II "Value Package" $260. 2 humbuckers, (see
Guitar Research
to understand difference between single coil and humbucker pickups)10watt Amp, headphone jack, picks, cable, gig bag, pitch pipe (get real, get a tuner) strap and instructional video. Well made, good sounding guitar. The guitar itself is priced at $170-180. Squier Strat Pack Price $200 comes with 10watt amp with headphone jack. The amp doesn't get metal type grind. Tuner, strap, gig bag, picks, cable , dvd, and stand. For $50 more you get a better amp 15watt and headphones. The guitar itself runs about $130. I like the quality of the guitar and sound. Leave off the whammy bar if you don't like changing strings often. These have come a long way. Left handed available too at $250. Ibanez IJX30 "Value Package" Price: $200. 10watt amp, chart, tuner, gig bag, strap. 2 humbuckers. Solid guitar that looks cool. ESP ltd10 Price: $230. 10watt amp, tuner, cable, gig bag, and picks. Another cool looking and playing guitar. Esp has a couple others I didn't try that are supposed to be similar. I've seen them and they look cool too. Now let's say you just want to start with the guitar and not the amp. I would continue on up these manufacturers lines for even better electric guitar deals. Starting with Epiphone. The quality gets better. In fact, you could get a fine guitar that could last a lifetime in the $350-450 range. Epiphone offers a "limited lifetime warranty". Now that's confidence in your products. But if Strats are where your at Fender and Squier rules. Esp, Ibanez, Dean and Washburn are all recommend, in no particular order. The choices start to get overwhelming in the $300 on up range. Let your ears, and hands, and eyes be your guide to what you like. Make the decision based on answers from Guitar Research. You can buy all the Necessities separately, or just some. Here are some of those prices: Tuner Price: Korg CA30 $19.99 and up. As I've said before, you get what you pay for here. Just don't use a pitch pipe! Guitar Straps can run from $5.00 to 20.00. Of course you could get fancier and pay more. 20 foot Cable $17-40 or more depending on quality. Cleaning Cloth no more than $4.Strings $7 to $10. A decent Gig Bag should run about $35.00. If it is less, make sure you think it has enough padding to protect your precious. Just a few days ago I found what has to be the best Headphone Amp ever!! It's call the V2 from CTech. Amazing at $80-100. Everyone should have one of these if they play electric guitar. I've tried others and this is the most fun and functional. It even has a tuner. I'll write more about it on another page soon. also Fender sells the String and Tuner pack with cable, stand, cloth, tools, polish for $50. You can pick for either acoustic or electric. Of course electric guitar prices can get into the many thousands. Fender did an Eddie Van Halen guitar that was about $25,000.00. Unreal. Some vintage and famous owned guitars go for hundreds of thousands. Whoa. I guess the sky's the limit when you're talking guitar for real.
