Classical Guitar Prices

I list the classical guitar prices I inspected and played.I found them to be great deals with good quality. These are the prices I've found at different stores and on the internet.

Lucero LC200ce Price: $199.00 to 229.00. This is a good all around guitar that comes with a pickup included. Sounds fine. I've seen them with a light top, or painted black. The black will take extra care to keep clean. All you need with this is a Tuner and extra Strings. (See below for those prices.) You can add a Strap no problem because they have a button on them. You can use a basic 30 watt amp for about $150.00- 250.00 to be able to play with a drummer. You could get smaller cheaper amps if you want.

Yamaha CS40 Price: $99.99-129.00. Good sound and workmanship. nothing fancy here, it does a good job at a more than fair price. Need a Tuner and Strings.

Ibanez GA5 Price: $139.99 was the lowest I found it for. You'll pay more for this and it's worth it. Nice sound and playability. Felt sturdy. Need Tuner and Strings.

Classical guitar prices go up from here ($200 on up) and many other fine manufacturers come into play. I'll just mention a few I tried and found good. Takamine, Rodriguez from Spain and Ramirez. The prices really go up for handmade and hard to get quality woods. Sorry, the good trees are disappearing. Boy does it make a difference in overall sound. It isn't how decorated a classical guitar is either. All the fancy inlays only look good. It doesn't improve the sound. Kind of like the way Stradivarius violins go for millions of dollars. For 4 to 5 thousand you can have an incredible sounding classical guitar.

Tuner Price: Korg CA30 $19.99 and up. As I've said before, you get what you pay for here. Just don't use a pitch pipe!

Guitar Straps can run from $5.00 to 20.00. Of course you could get fancier and pay more.

20 foot Cable $17-40 or more depending on quality. Cleaning Cloth no more than $4.

Foot Stand (or Stool) $17 for metal. $25 for wood.

Music Stand a real basic one no more than $15. I did see a deal where you get a wood footstand, wood music stand and wood guitar stand for $70. I thought that was fair and classy looking.

Strings $7 to $10.

A decent Gig Bag should run about $35.00. If it is less, make sure you think it has enough padding to protect your precious.

All in all you should be able to get everything you need for under $300.00. The only thing that will be different is the quality of the guitar. You could just go with a guitar, tuner, cloth, extra sets of strings, a bag, and be in the low $200 range. It's possible.
