Acoustic Electric Prices

I list the acoustic electric prices that I've inspected and played. I found them to be great deals and good quality. These are the prices I've found at different stores and on the internet.

Some are "Value Packages", which means they have things included that you'll need. (see Necessities ) I'll always recommend an electronic tuner over a pitch pipe. Just make sure the tuner has a mic built in to pick up acoustically.

Epiphone PR-4e Price: $220 is the best price I could find. ValuePack includes: some extra strings, picks, strap, amplifier 15watt, DVD and dreaded pitch pipe, so buy a tuner. I think you'll need a cord as well.

At this point, I also want to note that Fender sells a "String and Tuner package" it has strings, tuner,(duh!) and, depending on whether you get it for Acoustic or Electric, cable, stand, cloth, tools, polish. I say if you don't want an amp for your acoustic electric yet, get this package separately. You can buy the above guitar (or any other) and get the pack for $50. Not bad.

Ibanez IJAE5 Jampack Price: $200. Solid guitar. Comes with 15watt Amp, Gig Bag, Tuner. Pretty good deal, but you may need to add some strings and things.

Yamaha FX 335 Price: $200. Fair guitar quality with good sound. I've admired the Yamaha sound for many years. Thanks Mom! She bought that first guitar for me that was similar to this, only I added the pickup later. I still have it, and it still sounds good.

Takamine ES33C Price:$250 This is a really good guitar. I recommended this to someone who was hard on guitars. It holds up. He also has a "picky ear", so sound was critical. He played a lot of Beatle songs on it.

Fender CD110CE Price: $250. I am totally biased because I own it. Would I get another? Yes. The sound, to me, rivals the makers I'll talk about next. Without spending over a thousand.

Acoustic electric prices go up from here. I'll mention the best I've played. (And there are a lot of them.) But as I've said on classical guitar prices, "The prices really go 'UP' for handmade and hard to get quality woods. The trees are disappearing. Theses guitars can cost a thousand minimum to even get in the game. I recommend, in this order of my favorite being first, Martin, Gibson, Taylor, Epiphone, and Guild. If you get one of these take great care of it and get a hard shell case.

Tuner Price: Korg CA30 $19.99 and up. As I've said before, you get what you pay for here. Just don't use a pitch pipe!

Guitar Straps can run from $5.00 to 20.00. Of course you could get fancier and pay more.

20 foot Cable $17-40 or more depending on quality. Cleaning Cloth no more than $4.

Strings $7 to $10.

A decent Gig Bag should run about $35.00. If it is less, make sure you think it has enough padding to protect your precious.

Amplifiers can be $100 on up to get loud enough you want 30watts minimum.

You should be able to obtain acoustic electric prices starting around $250. You'll be able to play acoustically or electrically which opens up a lot of places to play.
